Shimoni, a quiet fishing village & small port opposite Wasini Island, is our home & has been for over 35 years. Life is laid back. Here large dhows ( traditional sailing vessels ) still arrive plying their wares between mainland Kenya & the islands of Pemba, Zanzibar & sometimes further afield. People are friendly & have time to chat. Wasini Island is a short boat ride across the Wasini Channel. Tours to Kisite Marine Park & Wasini Island are day affairs but by staying here with us overnight or longer you have time to explore more & further afield into areas rarely visited. Take leisurely walks along the mangrove beaches & snorkel off the bottom of our garden. Visit the few local restaurants & bars for friendly exchanges. Just a few ideas. Or relax on our sea deck at the sea side or beside the large pool. We are 1 hour drive from Diani Beach where life zooms along at a faster pace.
