Directions: From Mombasa/Diani

1. Take the Mombasa (A109)/Lunga Lunga (A14) highway (see map).
2. 2.1km after passing a big sugar factory on the right & crossing the Ramisi River bridge, there is a turning on the left at Kanana (approx 63.6km from Mombasa ferry & 37.7km from Ukunda at Diani turn-off).
3. Drive on the Kanana/Shimoni road for 15km.
4. At T junction, turn left & we are the 3rd gates on the right – bright blue – after passing Shimoni Reef Lodge.

From Tanzania:

1. Approximately 30km from the Horohoro / Lunga Lunga border, you reach Kanana & a BIG rumble BUMP.
2. Turn right & follow directions above to our home.

By Public Transport

• There is regular local transport to Shimoni (we are a short walk from drop off point) either by matatu (local bus) or motorbike.
• If traveling from Mombasa, cross the ferry from Island side to Likoni & look for a matatu going to either Lunga-Lunga or Shimoni.
• The drive to the Shimoni junction at Kanana will be approximately 1.5hrs (depending on where other drop offs & pick ups are along the way!).
• If you are on a Lunga-Lunga matatu, get off at Kanana & take a motorbike (for the young at heart) for the last 15km off the main road down to Shimoni.
• Local transport is OK but….
  – A Taxi from either Diani or Mombasa is your best option, but more expensive.
  – From Mombasa, the drive is approximately 1.5hrs once you have crossed the ferry & 1hr from Diani.

From Nairobi

• A good way to reach the coast from Nairobi is either by the new SGR railway (book online) or fly from Wilson airport to UkundaDiani airstrip.
• Flights can be very reasonable. There is also the budget airline (part of Kenya Airways) Jambojet from JKIA that flies to Diani/Ukunda.
